Mr Heaton was my surgeon for my arthroscopy. He was very reassuring and informative pre procedure. From initial consultation with a different consultant at Lincoln County Hospital to post surgical follow up with Mr Heaton my care throughout has been fantastic given the state of our NHS. From initial consultation to surgery was 6 months, a time frame I can't really grumble about. So a big thank you to everyone from admin to surgical team.

I saw Mr Heaton 2 weeks after my referral and he explained that I needed a total knee replacement and showed me the X-rays and took his time to explain everything with me. I got my surgery within 8 weeks of seeing him. The treatment I received at Grantham Hospital was excellent. The nurses and doctors who treated me were so caring and compassionate and took their time even if they were busy. On my discharge everything was put in place for appointments with district nurse, physio and post op appointment with Mr Heaton

I had TKR in March after years of Knee issues . I first saw Mr Heaton nearly 11 years ago and was advised then i would need TKR in the future, I put it off until i slipped and fell in September last year and was then advised to start proceedings . I saw Mr Heaton in October and he agreed my TKR was my only option and was put on the waiting list. I was given a date just before new year but this was cancelled ,it was then rescheduled for March at Grantham Hospital . I knew what to expect as Mr Heaton had discussed in detail prior to admission , but both he and the anaesthetist were very informative and made me feel at ease on the morning of the op . The op went very smoothly ( despite Mr Heaton saying it was not as straightforward as most ) and went home the day after the op . All staff at Grantham were superb and nothing was too much trouble for anyone . Although the operation went smoothly i have to say the pain after being at home for a couple of days was pain like I've never experienced before but the medication given soon had it under control . I am now 7 weeks post op and have just been discharged . No walking aids , no Knee pain for the first time in years and hopefully my recovery will continue to improve to a point where i can ride a bike again ( something i haven't done for the last 15 years )

An ultimate professional. Calm, attentive but more importantly an extremely efficient surgeon.
